Solid Waste: Trash & Recycling

The City of DeLand currently uses GFL Environmental Inc. for solid waste, yard waste and recyclable collections.

Material(s) Information

Garbage

1 - 96-gallon cart or 64-gallon cart per service (anything outside of the cart is subject to additional charges.)
1 additional cart can be purchased for an extra charge through GFL.

Recycling

1 - 64-gallon cart per service (anything outside of the cart is subject to additional charges.)

Yard Waste

1 cubic yard per week
Must be tied in bundles or contained.
Each piece should be a maximum of 4 feet long by 6 inches diameter, total pile diameter should not exceed 24 inches.
Max weight 75 pounds per container, tied bundles.

Holiday Schedule

Work all holidays except:

Martin Luther King, Jr.
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
New Years Day

**** Normal schedule trash removal will be done on the following business day****

Services provided

1x per week garbage service in 96-gallon cart or 64-gallon cart
1x per week recycling service in 64-gallon cart
1x per week yard waste removal

Service Days & Restrictions

Service Schedule: All materials need to be placed out for collection by 6 am.
Bulk Collection: Two free pick-ups per year and must be scheduled through GFL (3 yards maximum per pick-up)
Appliances: Special Collection: 2 free pick-ups per year and must be scheduled through GFL
4 free tires per year
Billing: applied through utility bill

All material must be brought to the curb prior to 6 am on day of service. All recycling must fit in recycle bin container. Yard debris must be tied, bundled or contained in clear bags or bins, 32 gallons or less. (Do not use your solid waste or recycle container.)
