[ARCHIVED] Volunteer of the Year

DeLand has put out its annual call to recognize residents who make a difference in the community.

Nominations for the annual Volunteer of the Year Award will be accepted until Sept. 16. Nominees must have been involved in volunteering in the greater DeLand area for at least one year.

The city also is accepting nominations for local volunteers younger than 40.

Nominations may be submitted at City Hall, 120 S. Florida Ave., or through an online form on the city's website: https://deland.prod.simpligov.com/prod/portal/ShowWorkFlow/AnonymousEmbed/7692c826-855a-4566-a971-41e313e1a8ad

The winners will see their names memorialized on plaques that will be placed at the corner of Woodland Boulevard and New York Avenue in downtown.
