Mayor Christopher M. Cloudman has served on the DeLand City Commission since 2014 and was elected Mayor in 2022 following the retirement of longtime Mayor Robert F. Apgar. Before joining the Commission, he volunteered for four years as a member of the City of DeLand’s Planning Board.

Mayor Cloudman holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from Stetson University. He currently serves as the Manager of Conservation and Sustainability for Facilities Management at Stetson University.

As Mayor, he represents DeLand on several regional and local boards, including the Volusia-Flagler Transportation Planning Organization, Central Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization Alliance, East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, Florida League of Cities, Florida League of Mayors, Volusia League of Cities, Florida Municipal Pension Trust Fund, and the Florida League of Cities Intergovernmental Relations, Mobility, and Emergency Management Legislative Policy Committee.

Beyond his role in local government, Mayor Cloudman is actively involved in the community. He is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Downtown DeLand, a Mentor and Advisory Committee Chair for the FUTURES Foundation Take Stock in Children Program, a volunteer with the Millennium Musicians youth music organization, and an active member of Volusia Community Arts.

Chris, his wife Megan, and their daughters Emily and Isobel enjoy spending time in the community, attending and volunteering at local charity events, and celebrating all that makes DeLand the "Athens of Florida."
