Business & Industrial Development

The Community Development Department works with other members of the City management to promote quality industrial and business development at the City's Airport Business Park. Several large acreage tracts are still available for lease. In addition, City management also promotes business interests in the DeLand area. If you are interested in leasing industrial zoned property at the City's Airport Business Park or other business space in the DeLand area, please contact the Economic Development Manager.

Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)

FTZs can help companies reduce operational costs and improve profits on products containing imported materials or components. They can reduce customs clearance times, streamline paperwork and, based on product configuration, can improve a manufacturer's position when competing with comparable products in offshore markets. Businesses can delay, reduce or avoid import duties on components and goods that enter an FTZ when they are stored, sorted, tested, repackaged, scrapped or used in a manufacturing process.

FTZ Number 198, covering all of Volusia County, is now available for use. Contact the Volusia County Division of Economic Development for more information or to register for this program.
